Spring is here! Welcome to walking and riding the Bitterroot Trail. Come and enjoy the great restaurants and breweries along the way or visit the shops. Check out Travelers’ Rest State Park in Lolo, the fishing access in Florence, Stevensville’s Saint Mary’s Mission and the Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge, the park in Victor, and Hamilton’s many shops and museum.

With reasonably safe crossings of US 93, the new section of this Bitterroot Trail between Missoula and Lolo has provided a great recreational ride to help me stay physically fit and mentally alert. There is enough elevation change to be moderately challenging but not so much to discourage casual riders. There are a number of driveway crossings that bike riders must be aware of and watch for potential crossing traffic.
